Book Worm!

I can usually tell where my son is in the house even if we are not in the same room. He is so noisy! He clangs pots and pans, drawers, and doors, and his toys. When I cannot hear him, I drop everything to find him. This means he has snuck off to do something naughty, like pry open the toilet seat and play splashing games.



Yesterday I was doing an activity in another room lost sound (like lost sight? is this a real phrase?) of him. I panicked. What has he gotten into now?

He did get into a little bit of mischief, pulling a basket of books from the shelf and dumping them out. However, he had several of them opened up in front of him and was looking through the pages. He was touching the pictures and the words. I left him alone for several minutes (like TEN!!) while he enjoyed those books without my company.



After I took the photo, he came to me and tugged on my skirt to sit down. I did, and he climbed onto my lap. We read three more books together.

This was one of the best parts of my week.
I love that my son was exploring books and was interested in them for that long of a space of time.
I love that he wanted me to read to him.
I love being a parent more and more each day!
