Comforting Dose of Down To Earth...

While browsing on Pinterest for inspiration on the wall gallery we've finally put together for the house, I was drooling over the beautiful rooms and homes displayed.

I said, 'Wow, look at those beautiful homes and rooms."

Dan leaned over me and said, "Huh.  How many kids under three do you think they have?"

Obvious answer - NONE.  No toy cars, no lone baby socks waiting for their mate from the laundry, no dust or fingerprints.

I know people say a phrase like, "Well, I wouldn't trade the baby socks and sticky fingers for all the fine trimmings in a fancy house."

I will not say that.

I like my kids and my family and my life, but SOMEDAY.
I say SOMEDAY, I'll have the memories of children under three AND I'll have a Pin-worthy home!

And I totally have an Ideas for Future Home pin-board. Its good to plan ahead!

Ahhh yes, the myth of the perfect house. Well it is a myth if you are a parent, as you mentioned. And by the time the children are bigger we might not care anymore. (At least this is what my mom says will happen.....)

My sister-in-law has a perfect, Pinterest-worthy house, and she has a 7-month-old. Her house was like that before baby, though, so maybe that's why? And she was 32 when she gave birth. Maybe age and what we do with our homes before we have kids have something to do with it? I'm not sure how her home will change now that baby is here. I would think that a child would just grow accustomed to their surroundings and maybe not bother the nice, decorative items on tables?
